No previous experience required. Minimum age 14.

In this 3 hour workshop with Lucinda Sheldon, from Lucinda Enamels, you will learn the basics of enameling and will create a Martha’s Vineyard Island charm in the class. In further classes you will learn different enameling techniques, creating different designs.

Enameling skills covered in this class:

• • Proper cleaning of metal
• • Counter firing
• • Forming Cloisonne wire
• • Wet packing enamel
• • Firing enamel in kiln
• • Learning the use of a flexible shaft to clean the enamel edging

*Dress code: For safety reasons we ask everyone to comply with the dress code policy for metalsmithing: Closed-toe footwear (no sandals), pants/shorts must go below the knee, long hair must be pulled back from the face and secured. Wear a headband or a hat if your hair can’t be tied back.
