Learn to Knit! (Weeks 1-4)
Days: Thursdays
Dates: Oct. 11 & 18 // Oct. 25 & Nov. 1
Time: 3:30 - 5:30PM
Location: Art Barn Conference Room
Fee: $70 for 2 classes

In this class we will take our very first steps into the knitting world. ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED.  We will cover fundamental vocabulary and tools, as well as begin our very first projects.  Materials will be available for purchase for each project.
Projects:
Cozy Infinity Cowl
We will learn how to cast on, and using just the “knit” stitch, we will make our own trendy and packable infinity cowl.
Ribbed Scarf
Building on what we learned with our Infinity Cowl, we will use the “purl” stitch along with the knit stitch to make a comfy and classic ribbed scarf.

Advanced Knitting Skills (weeks 5-8)
Days: Thursdays
Dates: Nov. 8 & 15 // Nov. 29 & Dec. 6
Time: 3:30 - 5:30PM
Location: Art Barn Conference Room
Fee: $70 for 2 classes

This project-based class will focus on adding or refreshing more complex knitting skills, such as knitting in the round and cables.  A materials list will be provided in advance for each project.
Projects:
Ribbed Hat
Using our knitting and purling skills, we will make a traditional toque-style ribbed hat in the round.  This hat will require us to learn how to change the shape of our fabric by using a simple “decrease” method while learning to use circular and double-pointed needles.
Cabled Scarf
Learn how to knit cables by creating a scarf that showcases different cable stitches for warmth and beauty.
