Time: 1:30-4:30PM each day
Location: Art Barn Painting Studio
Fee: $150 plus $40 materials fee for 3 day workshop

Modern artists often paint in larger formats by combining multiple panels or using oversized papers, wood panels or stretched canvases. In this workshop, we will work with these surfaces to create larger works. We also will explore tools and techniques that facilitate creating larger works (using larger brushes, large scrapers, under paintings, adding gels and model paste, working with large gestures, using tinted gessoes, using a limited and/or bold palette, working with strong composition elements, and using strong painted and/or collaged shapes). During the class, you will receive a handout containing the curriculum and extensive examples from modern and contemporary artists.
Provided Supplies and Materials Fee: The instructor will supply the materials (acrylic brushes (big and small), heavy and fluid acrylic paints; watercolor and other papers; black and white gessoes; modeling paste; gels; collage materials, texture making tools, 30x40 canvas; papers) for which there will be a $40 supply fee.
If you are interested in working in multiples or need more information about the course, please e-mail the instructor here.
