11/05/2019 05:00 PM - 11/26/2019 07:00 PM ET

Description

Hand-Building Forms: Creating the Decorative Surface with Washington Ledesma
Day: Tuesdays
Dates: 4-week session: November 5, 12, 19, 26
Time: 5:00 - 7:00PM
Location: The Pottery Studio
Fee: $140 for the 4 class session. All students must purchase clay for the class - a bag of clay is an additional cost of $25.

In this 4-week class participants will explore how they can create their own personal expressions in clay. Through hand-building and slab construction students will create their own three-dimensional pieces or flat surfaces. Properties of terra cotta, stoneware and porcelain will be discussed. We will work with all necessary surface preparations to decorate our pieces with both black and multi-color paint, sgraffito and other carving techniques. The finished pieces will serve as guides to discover our personal interconnection with the clay and how a piece touches our deeper emotions.
