Time: 1:00-3:00PM

Location: Art Barn Drawing Studio

Artists are able to capture the 3-dimensional qualities of objects through their understanding of light and form. This class is about looking, analyzing, discovering, thinking, feeling and doing. We will be working from observation with lights clipped on the draped fabric and placed on our tables. By doing preliminary exercises and drawings with charcoal pencil on charcoal paper it will increase our ability to see tonal relationships between lights and darks. Next, we will be working with a range of values through color mixing as we transition into paint, and discover how to blend light, medium and darker values with acrylics in order to capture the 3-dimensional qualities of fabric.

This class is open to beginning and advanced levels of ability and all instruction will be individualized to suit the level of each participant.
