“After having made the first papier collé {from the French word coller - to glue}, I felt great shock and it were even greater for Picasso when I showed it to him.” – George Braque. Picasso immediately embarked on a phase of collage creating nearly a hundred in short succession. Collage is a projective technique that leads you to create without preconceived intentions. Collages are easy to create and there is no required skill set. Intuitive collage provides a release of emotions even if we are not conscious of what they are. Creating Collages can bypass your censoring mind and surprise you with new information about your inner landscape. Collaging is an innovative and somewhat unfocused activity that will result in lovely works of art...and, it is really fun! My approach blends acrylic painting with the cut, tear, paste and embellishments
of collaging. You will assemble colors, textures, shapes and materials to create a new concept. Materials will be provided but…you are encouraged to bring ‘bits and pieces’ of paper, photos, fabric, pictures, stencils & stamps. Your time in the workshop will provide an environment and materials to create 2 original works.
