This Fall, Featherstone would like to soak up every ray of warm golden sunshine and enjoy nature’s abundant array of colors this harvest season and create art together outside. Using the fall foliage as our plein air backdrop and art inspiration, Coral Shockey will lead an art experience for our Island families to come draw and paint the beautiful serene landscape that surrounds us. The plein air art class will include drawing with an assortment of colored pencils, oil pastels and crayons to warm up creative artist minds, hearts and hands before painting with acrylics on canvas.
Art tables will be placed 20 feet apart throughout Featherstone’s sweeping upper campus to create a safe socially distant plein air class. Artists can reserve a table for the two hour class and fill their tables with their families who may include whomever your safe Covid family pod may be. Each table will be carefully set for 6 artists with a maximum of 4 children per table. An adult must be present at each table. Please provide the name of all attending artists as well as the ages of all children so Coral can help create customized magical art experiences for each family.
Encompassing art themes for each class will be:
October 3rd - Abundance
October 17th - Joy
October 24th - Gratitude
(Rain dates will be the following day on Sunday the 4th, 18th and 25th at the same time)
